Author(s): Matthew Middleton; Juliet Middleton (Editor)

Picture Book

Princess Bee and the Boy is a story and picture book aimed at children and adults aged from four to 104. It is a story about how a boy learned that Australian native bees are important to the environment and all living creatures. When we first meet him, he has discovered honey and become addicted to it, neglecting his family as he searches for more hives to rob and trees to chop down. The Princess Bee of the last hive left in the land calls a meeting of all the creatures of the land and sea to work out how to stop the destruction. Through her songs (represented in the audio book with the didgeridoo), she helps him to realise how close he has come to destroying the environment. Together they set about repairing the damage and teaching other people how to care for their country.
